Cheesecake Factory SkinnyLicious Menu

On Saturday, my mom and I had lunch at the Cheesecake Factory. Their dishes have been scrutinized by dietitians and other health conscious people because of the crazy amount of calories in their menu items. My mom and I were delighted to see their new Skinnylicious Menu.

Hmmmm… would it be filled with unappetizing meals like grilled chicken breasts and steamed broccoli?

The Skinnylicious menu features nearly 50 dishes under 590 calories, including 12 appetizers under 490 calories. It also includes “skinny” versions of some of their most popular alcoholic drinks including the Sangria, Margarita, and Mojito.

Although 490 calories is still a hefty amount, the meals are much healthier than their “regular” menu items. The food also kept us satisfied through a long day of mother/daughter shopping… so my verdict= success.

So what did we have?

Starter: Edamame. We didn’t try anything crazy or fun (sorry). Fresh edamame with sea salt can make my day, any day.

Meals: We split the Mediterranean Chicken Lettuce Wraps and the Skinnylicious Burger. Seriously so good.

My Thoughts:

  • Try to eat out less. It’s difficult to control how much sodium and added oils they put into foods, even if you are trying to order something “healthy”
  • Order off of the “light” menu
  • Reduce portion size. Take half of your food to go
  • Skip the bread basket. My mom and I asked our server to not bring the bread basket at The Cheesecake Factory. If it were in front of us.. we would likely end up eating it out of boredom=not good.
  • Everything in moderation. Even cheesecake… 🙂
