What Intuitive Eating is
Intuitive Eating is an evidenced-based, mind-body self-care framework for eating, comprised of 10 principles, that involves reconnecting with one’s internal wisdom. Ultimately, Intuitive Eating is an empowerment tool that equips you with the knowledge and ability to make the very personal decisions that honor your health by listening to your body to meet your physical and psychological needs. Intuitive Eating is all about you because YOU are the expert of your body.
What Intuitive Eating isn’t
Intuitive Eating is not a diet. It is not a new set of rules to be followed (or broken for that matter). There is no expectation of doing it perfectly; in fact, working through IE is likely to bring up vulnerabilities, systems of belief that contradict with your values, and other heavy things that might lead to some messiness at different stages. This is why it is so important that you have a safe space and work with someone to help you feel supported during this process.
What you can expect working with Natalia
You can expect to obtain a better understanding of your unique relationship with food and body. You can also expect to have food myths and beliefs challenged with evidence-based nutrition science. Of course, knowledge alone is not enough. Working together you (we) will also explore and identify tools that you can use to help support you on your ongoing journey of finding more peace with food and your body.
As a Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor trained as a Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist, Natalia offers counseling through the dynamic lens of Intuitive Eating and Nutrition Therapy. Natalia works predominantly with clients recovering from disordered eating and eating disorders across all age groups and genders to help them better understand their relationships with food, body image, and wellness.
