My motto – “food freedom” is the way I approach food. It is the feeling of control of the food you eat instead of the food controlling you. It allows you to eat the food when you want it and not feeling shame or regret for doing so. Life is all about balance. For me, this is the best tactic that I have ever found through my many years of “dieting” and has allowed me to live my life to the fullest. So, enjoy that ice cream every once in a while, sis!

My “why” – Throughout my teen years I found myself restricting certain foods, over exercising and obsessing over the scale. When the time came for me to go to college, I was obsessed with nutrition (not in the best way). As I pursued a career in nutrition, I discovered I was looking at a “healthy lifestyle” all wrong and knew this was the field for me, to not only help myself but help stop the stigma of poor body image and diet culture. Now it is my hope to help others develop good eating habits, enjoy exercise that is best for them and help develop a healthy mindset overall. My mission is to help support you on your own journey of living a healthy and happy lifestyle!

My credentials – A master’s degree in science and a bachelor’s degree in nutrition and dietetics from the University of Cincinnati. I am a registered and licensed dietitian, as well as a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

Favorite indulgences: Ice cream, preferably vanilla flavored (I know, plain jane)

Two staples always in my kitchen: Avocados and peanut butter

Favorite type of movement: I personally like to switch it up between cycling, strength training, volleyball and hiking/long walks

Favorite way to spend time outside of the office: I love being in nature if its day hikes, walking down the road, cycling, home improvement projects, gardening, ect. But also love to shop! (grocery, clothes, you name it I’m down)

Most favorite cookbook or recipe inspiration: I am a big fan of Pinterest due to the convenience and countless options available

A personal touch: I love spending time with family and friends boating. I practically grew up on the boat in the summer at Norris lake or on the Ohio river. Sharing good laughs and making lasting memories is extremely important to me and with my “boating family” we succeed in this task.
