What I Ate Friday!

Today’s meals were definitely on-the-go. Gives you a different feel than last Thursday’s meals at my desk job.

Breakfast: Smoothie with almond milk + frozen mango + frozen cherries and raspberries + chia seeds + honey. Yes I’m aware that I don’t really need honey, I already have a sweetener via the fruit…but… my LORD, I can eat honey by the spoonful, I love it.

Drank the smoothie in the car, on the way to Wright State. Running late… story of my life. I’m not usually late, but I’m not usually early. Something I’m still working on. I had the pleasure of speaking with the Men’s and Women’s Basketball teams this morning. I love working with athletes.

Did you see my beautiful new Vitamix blender in the picture? My old blender has broken twice. First time, they sent me a new one because it was still under warranty.  Second time, they sent me another new one because it’s still under warranty… but I’m not dealing with it again so I bought the king of all blenders, the Vitamix. Btw… when I called Black and Decker about the broken blender, they asked me a series of questions to assure it was not my fault the blender stopped working. They wanted to make sure I didn’t blend any frozen fruit, because this could break the blender…. uh… did I miss something? Isn’t a blender supposed to blend frozen fruit? okay. rambling now.

Lunch: GoPicnic Meal includes almond butter and crackers, dried fruit/nut mix, rice krispie treat, fruit roll-up. These meals are easy to grab when I forget to pack a lunch and don’t have a refrigerator.  The foods in GoPicnic All-Natural meals contain no trans fats, no added MSG, and no artificial colors, flavors or preservatives.

Eaten at the hair salon. yay for no more grey hairs. 🙂

Dinner: Darrin and I made homemade pizzas. hellz yeah. Wildtree whole wheat crust, pizza sauce, peppers, onions, Canadian bacon, pineapple, mushrooms, provolone, and mozzarella. I ate 1/3 of my pie. yay for leftovers.

Overall, my day was pretty skimpy on veggies and protein. I’ll work on making those up tomorrow. It’s all about balance. 🙂
