My LEAP Journey, Phase Three

Day 17 (last day of Phase 3)¬†of my LEAP Immunocalm Diet is completed. Next up… Phase 4!

Guess who went four days without taking allergy medication this week? THIS GIRL! ūüôā¬† My hives are still there, but four days without my Zyrtec is miraculous! Hopefully I continue to improve.

I’m also down 5.5 lbs on the scale x four weeks. Probably a combo of losing water retention + eating unprocessed food. Either way… feeling¬†confident for swimsuit season! ūüôā

I did, however, have GI symptoms on Monday and Tuesday so I went back and looked at the foods I introduced. I’ve narrowed it down to either cheese or garbanzo¬†beans. I know I introduced cheese last Friday (and didn’t have a response), but I had a larger amount on Sunday. I am going to wait to have cheese or garbanzo beans for a little while and then trial again to determine the culprit.

Here is my ImmunoCalm Diet template, with foods added for Phase 4. You’ll notice that I haven’t tried every food in Phase¬†1-3 but that’s okay…. just continue moving through all of the phases adding one food (per day)¬†at a time.

Day #13-Sunday, April 28th- New food added: Garbanzo Bean & Cumin

  • Breakfast:¬†n/a…. I slept in!
  • AM Snack: n/a
  • Lunch: Spoonful of sunflower butter (sunflower seeds, evaporated cane syrup, salt), and strawberry¬†fruit preserves¬†(sugar, strawberries, water, fruit pectin(fruit based and Cascadian¬†Farms told me it’s not from pineapple, papaya or watermelon), lemon juice concentrate, citric acid-(corn based))
  • PM Snack:¬†¬†Sweet potato chips (sweet potato, sunflower oil, sea salt)
  • Dinner: Homemade hummus (garbanzo beans, lemon juice, olive oil, cumin), cucumber; cheddar cheese
  • PM Snack #2: n/a

Day #14-Monday, April 29th; New food added: Broccoli

  • Breakfast:¬†apple, with sunflower butter (sunflower seeds, evaporated cane juice, salt), raisins
  • AM Snack: Prosciutto (ham, salt)
  • Lunch: Pita chips (wheat flour, yeast, sugar, salt, water, sunflower oil), hummus (garbanzo beans, lemon juice, olive oil, cumin), broccoli
  • PM Snack:¬†¬†Clementine x2; Spoonful of sunflower butter( sunflower seeds, evaporated cane syrup, salt) and strawberry preserves (sugar, strawberries, water, fruit pectin, lemon juice, citric acid-corn based)
  • Dinner: Tilapia with lemon, olive oil, zucchini
  • PM Snack #2: n/a

Day #15-Tuesday, April 30th; No new foods added because I felt crappy!

  • Breakfast:¬†Frozen mango and strawberries
  • AM Snack: Dry roasted almonds
  • Lunch: Pita chips (wheat flour, yeast, sugar, salt, water, sunflower oil); apple
  • PM Snack:¬†¬†Apple sauce (apples,¬†water)¬†with cinnamon; Clementine x2; Boiled egg
  • Dinner: Beef hamburger patty; veggies roasted on the grill in olive oil (corn on the cob, asparagus, zucchini, broccoli, sweet potatoes)
  • PM Snack #2: n/a

Day # 16-Wednesday, May 1st; New food added: Prenatal Vitamins/Soybeans (My Prenatal Vitamin contains soybean oil)

  • Breakfast:¬†Rice cake(whole grain brown rice, sea salt) with apple butter (apples, apple juice concentrate); grapes
  • AM Snack: Corn tortilla chips (white corn flour, sunflower oil, salt)
  • Lunch: Burger (beef) with sweet potatoes and honey
  • PM Snack:¬† Cinnamon Sugar Almonds (almonds, sugar, cinnamon), apple
  • Dinner: Asparagus and broccoli roasted in olive oil; fresh strawberries

Day #17-Thursday, May 2nd; New food added: Raspberries

  • Breakfast:¬†Rice cake(whole grain brown rice, sea salt)¬†x2, almond maple butter (almonds, maple syrup, sea salt)
  • AM Snack: Raspberries (fresh)
  • Lunch: Beef burger; popcorn with olive oil and sea salt
  • PM Snack:¬† Clementine x 2; boiled egg; sweet potato chips (stone ground corn, sunflower oil, sweet potato, corn bran, evaporated cane juice, sea salt)
  • Dinner: Tilapia fillet x 2 with lemon, olive oil, Kalamata olives (olives, water, salt, red wine vinegar)
  • PM Snack #2: n/a
