  • Plan ahead!
  • Wash & cut fruits and veggies before the week begins
  • Research new recipes and grocery shop for ingredients-Make food fun!
  • Pack breakfast/lunch/or dinner the night before
  • Pre-package nuts into single serving bags
  • Research fast food/sit down restaurant’s nutrition prior to visiting
  • Make 1/2 of plate fruits and veggies
  • Make sure grains are whole grains
  • Low-fat dairy is key with weight loss and getting key nutrients
  • Healthy nuts and oils help increase satiety
  • 20-35% or calories should come from protein

    Good presentation and advice! My favorite line was “avoid food coma” lol. As I sit here with my eyes glazed over after just making my way through my overly-packed lunch! Oops lol.
    As far as making things fast and healthy…I buy pre-chopped fruits and veggies! I know its isnt cost effective, and sometimes you have limited selection, but its saves soooooo much time, and I am happy to justify the price for healthful eating. If I couldnt buy them pre-chopped, it would be lean cuisines or subway every night for me!
